Exciting Festive Happenings This Holiday Season

Whitehorse – The Santa Land & Festival Lights Tour takes place at Shipyards Park on Saturday, December 16 from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Enjoy a variety of free and small-fee activities, food and festivities, as well as the popular Polar Express bus tours.
Seasonal fare and activities include cookie decorating, kicksledding, hot apple cider, kids’ dog sled rides, maple taffy, photos with Santa, and tobogganing. Entertainment will be hosted by MAD students.
Everyone is welcome to tour the lights with Whitehorse Transit. Buses will depart from Shipyards Park at 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm. This year, a new Mini Loop geared to young families will offer additional bus departures at 4:30 pm, 5 pm and 5:30 pm. Admission is by donation with proceeds benefitting Share the Spirit.
The Canada Games Centre Open House is on Thursday, December 21 from 11 am to 2 pm. Meet the staff, try our scavenger hunt, enjoy our carolers, and enter to win a prize! Daily admission rates apply for all drop-in activities.
On Sunday, December 31, the New Year’s Eve Countdown takes place at the Canada Games Centre from 4 - 6 pm and features skating, swimming, facilitated themed games, and crafts. The party then moves to Shipyards Park from 6 - 8 pm for a bonfire, music, skating, sledding, hot chocolate, kettle corn, and a fireworks finale. It’s free!
