Spring Cleanup Kicks Off

Public Service Announcement

Post Date:04/30/2018

Whitehorse – It’s getting greener in Whitehorse and we’re planning a whole host of cleanup events.

Community Cleanup Program
Approved community groups are doing their part and will be cleaning up parts of the city with the help of the Community Cleanup Grant.

20 Minute Makeover - May 2

Organizations and individuals are encouraged to take 20 minutes out of their day to clean up garbage and graffiti around their homes or place of work – as well as in alleyways, greenbelts or parks anywhere in Whitehorse. Let us know if you plan on coming to the BBQ at Shipyards Park! RSVP with Lindsay: lindsay.agar@whitehorse.ca

Household Hazardous Waste Days - May 11 & 12

Get rid of select leftover items like solvents, aerosols and used oil at the Waste Management Facility, with no tipping fees for certain items. Check our website for a full list of accepted items.

Tag ‘n’ Take - May 12 & 13

Citizens are encouraged to reuse each other’s items during Tag ‘n’ Take. Please tag items that are in good condition and put them at your curb on May 12 and 13 for others to take home. Reusing is a great way to keep things out of the landfill, save energy and materials required to make new items, and save money. Get your tags online!

Spring Cleanup Days - May 14 to 21

Whitehorse residents can bring residential garbage and yard waste to the Waste Management Facility free of charge. Check our website for a full list of accepted items.
