Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with your favourite artists and food vendors at Shipyards Park. 

This year’s Canada Day event will be headlined by Juno award winning indie rock group JULY TALK. Kick off the day with the annual Pancake Breakfast hosted by Knights of Columbus and Canada Day parade hosted by The Legion.


July Talk

Get ready for a day and night of dancing to Main Stage performances by:

  • JULY TALK performing songs from their Juno award-winning album Touch including hit single Picturing Love
  • The Inuvik Drummers and Dancers bring their drum dancing all the way from the Northwest Territories
  • Local favourites The Midnight Sons, Ukes of Hazards, Patrick Jacobson, and Soir de Semaine
  • Rising stars Vision Quest - Yukon’s First Nations Hip Hop group, and Usagi Forest
  • Yukon Fiddling Showcase

Enjoy an afternoon of Kids' Activities throughout the park. With roaming face-painting, crafts, and Rendezvous’s Prince and Princess competition, Canada Day has something for families and kids of all ages including:

  • Cultural performances at the multicultural pavilion
  • Free electronic craft workshops hosted by Yukonstruct and Michel Gignac
  • Free recycled and paper craft workshops hosted by Helen O’Connor and Leslie Leong
  • Musical and dance performances at the side stage featuring Bhangra Dancing with Gurdeep Pandher, Madi and Sarah, Marc Albert, Lara Lewis and the Youth Breakdancing Society.

 Canada Day Volunteers

Visit the Culture Connect Festival which will celebrate our diverse community and the rich cultural heritage of Whitehorse at Canada Day 150. It is presented by the Multicultural Centre of the Yukon's Culture Connect group, which includes the Canadian Filipino Association of Yukon, Chinese Canadian Association of the Yukon, l'AFY, Japanese Canadian Association of Yukon, the Yukon African Caribbean Association and others. The Culture Connect Festival will feature music and dance performances, games and activities including a photo booth and more!

Join Mayor Dan Curtis at our Official Ceremony at 12pm and participate in the Canadian Citizenship reaffirmation oath.
