Join us for our annual 20-Minute Makeover on Wednesday, May 15 between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Let’s beautify our community by collecting the residual waste that was hiding under the snow all winter!
You can also join the BBQ at Shipyards Park between 12 and 1 p.m.
This year we encourage you to clean up your favourite parks, trails and recreation areas. We’ll have bags, gloves available for pick up at the Frank Slim Building in Shipyards Park between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays beginning Monday, May 13. Let’s team up to clean up!
If you’re picking up waste in your neighbourhood, you can drop it off at one of our extra collection sites until 4 p.m. – at the Skate Park in Riverdale, Lazulite Park in Copper Ridge, at the Hickory and Wann Road Park in Porter Creek, at the pull out on Range Road in Whistle Bend and at the playground on Thompson Road for the neighbourhoods of Arkell, Logan and Granger.
Remember to stay safe and wear high visibility clothing when cleaning along wildlife corridors and busy roadways.
If you find needles/sharps, do not pick them up with your hands. If possible, without picking them up by hand, place them in pop bottles or sharps containers. Please call or text Blood Ties Four Directions at 867-334-1647 for needle pick-up and disposal.
Report illegal dumping activity to Bylaw Services at 667-2111 or through whitehorse.ca/sorting.
Let’s play our part to keep our neighbourhoods clean and wildlife corridors healthy!
