Improved transit routes set for July 1

The City of Whitehorse is preparing to launch the first phase of its modernized transit routes starting July 1, 2023.

Following community feedback in 2022, the City went back to the drawing board to take a new look at its route map while balancing the current fleet limitations.

These new routes increase overall service hours for the community, improve efficiency and timeliness across the network, and increase transit options for users including a new route in Whistle Bend.

Starting this summer, updated timing and additional stops will be seen throughout the northern routes.

In 2024, further improvements will be implemented to routes south of the city including the Riverdale and Copper Ridge neighbourhoods along with another additional route.

Transit improvement are a strategic priority for the City of Whitehorse and the City is already looking to the future to ensure our transit system continues to meet the needs of residents for years to come.
