City of Whitehorse and Chortkiv celebrate new sister city partnership

The municipalities of Whitehorse, Yukon and Chortkiv, Ukraine are now sister cities.

During a signing ceremony and reception at City Hall, Mayor Laura Cabott and Mayor Volodymyr Shmatko signed the sister city proclamations.

This honourary relationship will see both cities work together to promote a mutual partnership and exchange of experience between the two cities, including economic development, cultural tourism, art, sports and education.

Chortkiv is Whitehorse’s fourth sister city which includes Juneau, Alaska, Ushiku, Japan, and Lancieux, France.
