The City of Whitehorse has launched its Free Fare Transit Study. Investing and enhancing the City’s transit system is one of Council’s Strategic Priorities to address the impacts of climate change and improve accessibility for residents across the City.
Starting today, residents can fill out a survey to help the City understand the opportunities and barriers associated with free transit including what changes could be made to increase ridership.
The results of the survey, along with consultation with key stakeholder groups will inform the City’s next steps. The findings of the study are expected this winter.
The survey is available on EngageWhitehorse.ca and closes January 26th, 2024.
This project is made possible thanks to funding through the Canada Communities Building Fund.
