Two trails in the Copper Ridge area may experience flooding and icy conditions due to scheduled maintenance work on one of the City’s reservoirs.
Water may settle along the R&D North and the Ice Lake Connector trails around the power line between North Star Drive and Hamilton Boulevard.
De-chlorinated water needs to be drained from a nearby reservoir and it is anticipated it will follow the power line from North Star Drive, travelling towards Hamilton Boulevard, and settle in the area of the trails.
The maintenance work is scheduled to happen the week of December 2. The City’s Parks and Community Development department will monitor the effect the discharge has on the trails and ensure signage is placed on affected trails to inform trail users to expect icy conditions. Temporary trail closures may be necessary depending on the extent of the flooding that occurs.
