Update on City Corporate Events

Post Date:04/22/2020 4:02 PM

Whitehorse – The City of Whitehorse is postponing its 20-Minute Makeover and Senior’s Tea events until the fall, out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 situation.

Both of these popular, annual events typically draw hundreds of people. The City of Whitehorse continues to follow the recommendations from the Chief Medical Officer of Health of the Yukon.

Both events have been postponed to September and October, but no specific dates have yet been identified. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates this summer.

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Community Clean-up Program, however, is going ahead as scheduled but with some changes from previous years.

Participants are encouraged to avoid carpooling to their event, unless they’re from the same household, and to divide their group if it numbers over 10 people.

The City will not be providing pickers or gloves, as participants will have to supply their own. The City can provide safety vests, bags and signage, and groups are encouraged to keep them for future clean-ups.

Please call (867) 668-8325 or email to let them know the date your group will be participating, and the date you’d like to pick up your package. Groups are encouraged to begin the first week of May.
