Whitehorse – The sheet piling wall along Robert Service Way will be complete in the coming days, and work has also begun on an earth berm placed adjacent to the wall to further mitigate landslide risk. To date, over 50 sheet piles have been installed of a total of 86 piles.
Details around the re-opening of the roadway will be made available as soon as possible along with any traffic restrictions in place. Minor traffic delays are anticipated during this period. Portions of the Airport Trail and Millennium Trail will remain closed until further notice, and the public is asked to avoid these areas.
Public safety is a top priority, and the City and its geotechnical team continue to actively monitor the entire escarpment as the area is still considered unstable. If you witness a slide, please report it to the City’s trouble line at 667-2111. In the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
