City seeking input on snow and ice control

Post Date:07/20/2022 4:25 PM

Whitehorse – How do you think the City’s Snow and Ice Control Program could be improved? We’re reviewing our program and want to hear from you!

From now until August 19, we’re asking residents to share their winter experiences and feedback for the City’s snow clearing services by filling out our online survey at EngageWhitehorse.ca.

While the volume of snowfall has significantly increased every year since 2018, the City’s Snow and Ice Control Policy has not been updated, and there haven’t been any major additions to fleet capacity.

On February 14, 2022, Council approved a new Capital Project to review the existing Snow and Ice Control Policy, and identify any changes that may be required to better meet current needs.

These survey results will help us develop a Snow and Ice Control Program shaped by accessibility, mobility, safety, and sustainability.
