Work to replace a section of the Crosstown Water Main on the west side of Two Mile Hill is now complete.
This is part of preventative work the City is undertaking to keep infrastructure throughout Whitehorse in good order. Ongoing tests and assessments of water and waste infrastructure are helping to identify breaks, leaks and other issues so they can be addressed in a timely manner to minimize service disruptions and avoid larger problems from occurring.
Regular monitoring allows the City’s Engineering and Water and Waste Services Departments to best determine how and when critical infrastructure needs to be maintained or replaced.
In addition to the Crosstown Water Main, the recently commissioned Range Road Sewage Lift Station, ongoing improvements to the Crestview Booster and Pump Station, and the planned Selkirk Water Treatment Facility Upgrades are just a few of the many projects underway to meet the current and future demands of Whitehorse’s rapidly growing population.
