The City is moving to a new payment processing system for automatic utility payments in 2025.
The new Paymentus system offers enhanced service for customers at no additional cost, including
– improved security features;
– fraud monitoring;
– improved notifications to inform customers of declined or rejected transactions in real time as well as upcoming credit card expiry dates;
– a secure customer portal that allows customers to easily update their client information rather than completing and submitting forms; and
– an option to review payment history online.
Residents currently signed up for automatic credit card utility bill payments with the City will be required to sign up with the new Paymentus in 2025. Automatic utility payments after December 31 will not be processed for credit cards that have not been registered with Paymentus. The new system impacts only those customers who use a credit card for their automatic payments.
The first pre-authorized utility bill payment is scheduled for March 3, 2025. Residents are advised to sign up with Paymentus before then.
