Whitehorse Transit routes will be re-routed along Fourth Avenue on July 1 to accommodate Canada Day celebrations happening downtown.
The Whitehorse Legion is organizing a Canada Day parade on July 1. The parade will start at Sixth Avenue and Main Street and proceed down Main Street to Second Avenue, and along Second Avenue to Ogilvie Street, ending at Shipyards Park.
The parade will start at 11 a.m. on July 1.
For the duration of the parade, all Whitehorse Transit routes except route 402 will be re-routed to temporary stops along Fourth Avenue. Riders may experience service delays throughout the day.
As of July 1 new Whitehorse Transit routes and schedules will come into effect to improve service for riders (find information on new routes at whitehorse.ca/transit). Riders can continue to use the TransLoc app to track buses on July 1.
The Canada Day parade is a popular event – consider carpooling, or using active transportation.
Do not park in the parking lot of Fire Hall #1, or block the Black Street entrance. Emergency vehicles need enough space to safely come and go from the station.
