The City of Whitehorse is happy to announce Range Road is now open to all road users between Two Mile Hill and Mountain View Drive.
This year, crews undertook a major civil engineering project to repair the Takhini Sanitary Trunk Main. The existing main, built in 1975, was located in a steep section of the escarpment that was at risk of slope failure.
The work included deep excavations, installation of approximately 1.2 km of large diameter sanitary main, road widening, and surface works.
The new main is now operational and receiving flows from the Takhini and McIntyre trunks. Range Road will remain as gravel surface for the winter. Our Contractor will complete concrete curb and paving next season.
Transit Services impacted by this route change will return to their regular routes starting Saturday, November 11.
We want to thank the public, road users and neighbouring properties for their patience and understanding throughout this project.
This project would not have been possible without the collaboration of a number of City departments and partners including the City’s consultants, contractors, City Engineering Department, Water & Waste crews, and Transit Services.
