Starting tomorrow, the City of Whitehorse will be implementing the first phase of its modernized transit routes.
Riders can learn more about their new schedules on Whitehorse.ca.
These new routes increase overall service hours for the community, improve efficiency and timeliness across the network, and increase transit options for users including a new route in Whistle Bend. In 2024, further improvements will be implemented to routes south of the city including the Riverdale and Copper Ridge neighbourhoods along with another additional route.
Meanwhile, the Route 5 detour, implemented due to the landslides along Robert Service Way, remains in place. The Route 5 bus will continue to take the Alaska Highway but this is not expected to impact new route timing.
These changes are part of the City’s efforts to modernize our expansive transit system and make the community more accessible.
