Residents are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to learn the truth of residential schools, accept the difficult reality of missing children from those schools, and how these events continue to impact Indigenous families and communities. In a place where First Nations are a key piece of our community fabric, it is important for all of us to reflect on the work we are doing to advance Reconciliation in our own lives. The City of Whitehorse is committed to working with First Nations Governments to better understand, recognize, and incorporate the important role they play in shaping the community and we are thankful to be able to share this place with the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council.
