Air conditioning at the Canada Games Centre will be unavailable beginning May 13 while repairs to the ice plant are underway by the City’s contractor, Cimco.
We are taking precautions to mitigate the impacts to visitors.
CGC programs and services will continue as scheduled and extra fans will be placed in the gym and studio with the blinds kept down. Some classes may be moved outside on a case-by-case basis or cancelled if the temperature in the Wellness Studio, Fieldhouse or outside is deemed too warm.
Fitness class instructors will also adjust the intensity of their classes if necessary and ensure there are frequent water/rest breaks. Cool air will be ventilated into the building when outside temperatures permit.
Please remember if you are attending a fitness class to bring your water bottle!
The work is expected to continue until the end of June and is essential for summer ice in the CGC’s two arenas.
