The 2024 Whitehorse Municipal Election is on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Mail-in Special Ballot applications are now available by request. Application forms can be found online at whitehorse.ca/election.
In accordance with the Municipal Act, you can request a Special Ballot if you are eligible to vote in the 2024 Whitehorse Municipal Election and you are:
- unable to leave your home;
- unable to vote at an advance or regular poll because of your job or business;
- a student, or the spouse of a student, studying at an educational institution outside Whitehorse;
- possibly at risk of harm if you go in person to vote; or
- going to be out of town on polling days (Advance Poll – October 10, 2024 and Election Day – October 17, 2024).
Starting on Wednesday, October 2, electors eligible to vote by Special Ballot can fill out an application and vote by Special Ballot at City Hall.
Who can vote?
To be eligible to vote in the 2024 Whitehorse Municipal Election you need to:
- be a Canadian citizen;
- be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, October 17, 2024; and
- have resided in Whitehorse for at least one year prior to October 17, 2024.

- update your info if you’ve recently moved.
