You may have noticed new City of Whitehorse battery electric vehicles driving around the city. More than half a dozen new battery electric vehicles have been added to the City’s fleet as part of ongoing electrification efforts. The vehicles are fully electric and their use contributes zero emissions.
The new e-vehicles are being used to shuttle Transit Drivers to buses for their shifts, support property management throughout the city, and to get City employees around town to provide programs and services to residents. The e-vehicles join a growing list of electric machines within the City’s fleet, including Zambonis and lifts.
Additional e-vehicles are on order to continue the fleet electrification program.
