Whitehorse Transit riders will notice new changes to its transfer system.
Transfer tickets are now valid for up to an hour from the time they are issued and can be used for any transit route, providing riders with more freedom and flexibility.
Transfer tickets are provided to single fare users needing to switch buses to get to their destination. Previously, transfers were only valid for a specific route going in the direction of the passenger’s final destination. Now, riders have the flexibility to board any bus or route within an hour of receiving their transfer ticket, without restrictions on direction or destination.
In addition to this change, transit users may also notice a clear foil now featured on new tickets. This anti-forgery foil has been added in an effort to enhance security following an increase in forged tickets and transfers over the past year.
The new system aligns with the Token Transit app many passengers use to purchase Whitehorse Transit tickets and streamlines the boarding process, improving passenger privacy and making transit more convenient.
The City continues to improve Whitehorse Transit and make it a convenient, reliable transportation option for residents.
