Volunteer
The City of Whitehorse values the importance of volunteers and their contributions to our community. Since 1987, it has celebrated and publicly acknowledged outstanding volunteers by providing an opportunity for residents to recognize and appreciate volunteers.
Each spring, we invite organizations to nominate an individual as a candidate for this honour. The nominee should be someone who has made a significant contribution to an organization or to the community as a whole.
The deadline to submit a nomination is Sunday, March 17, 2024. Nominations can be submitted through whitehorse.ca/volunteeroftheyear.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, gain new opportunities, connect with the community and have some fun. Come be a part of this state of the art facility! There are many different opportunities at the Canada Games Centre.
The City of Whitehorse’s Fire Department has a full-time fire crew supported by volunteer fire fighters. Volunteers are a very important part of the City’s ability to protect property and lives of Whitehorse’s citizens.
