ATV season has begun.
A reminder that ATVs are permitted on motorized multi-use (MMU) trails in Whitehorse between April 1 and October 31. All recreational vehicles with 2, 3, 4 or 8+ wheels are considered ATVs, including both gas and electric dirt bikes, quads and other similar vehicles.
Please respect other trail users and our greenspaces by staying on designated MMU trails suitable for ATV use.
In spring, many MMU trails may not be ready for ATV use without causing damage. Wet and muddy trails are more vulnerable to damage than dry ones, and may result in poor trail conditions, safety issues, and increased maintenance requirements. When a trail is soft, please consider other options.
Only registered ATVs displaying a license plate may be operated within the city.
Operators are also required to be 16 years or older, wear a helmet while riding, have a valid driver’s license, insurance, certificate of registration, a valid ATV Safe Card available through the City website.
