Repairs continue on damaged sewer line

Whitehorse – City of Whitehorse crews are continuing to work on the leaking sanitary force main. Despite efforts to empty and repair the main earlier today, additional damage has been discovered.

A larger crack has been identified near the original leak and crews are now exploring additional repair options.

The City is again asking residents to reduce excess water usage wherever possible in order to limit the amount of wastewater entering the Yukon River and avoid any recreational water activities.

Additional information will continue to be provided daily until the repairs are complete. We thank residents for their patience and understanding.
