The City held three events in June 2016 in order to promote the release of the Draft Plan and get public input. Approximately 500 people attended our “Pop-up Park” on Front Street, booth at the Fireweed Market and BBQ at the Rotary Centennial Bridge! An online survey also received hundreds of responses.

The City held an ‘Ideas Fair’ in February 2016 to share information and gather input on the development of the plan. All 175 attendees were given multiple different methods to provide input, including telling a six-word story, identifying challenges and solutions, or even using the “selfie station.”

We were also very pleased to be able to give space for 7 different partners to have displays and distribute information. These included Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, Yukon Conservation Society, Contagious Mountain Bike Club and several Yukon Government departments.

An interactive display was installed at the Canada Games Centre in December 2015. The display garnered lots of great input on what’s special about Chadburn Lake Park. The input was used to help start the process of making management decisions for the park. We asked people to complete the sentence, “i heart Chadburn because…” Over a dozen full sheets were completed with a great variety of constructive comments.
