Overview
Chadburn Lake Park is a large regional park in the City of Whitehorse. It is a 7,550 hectare area covering much of the east side of the Yukon River within City limits. The park offers a huge variety of recreational uses (e.g. paddling, hiking, skiing, wildlife viewing) as well as environmentally sensitive areas and historically significant resources. A Park Management Plan was identified as an important tool to protect this resource, as well as guide future development. The Chadburn Lake Park management planning process has been led by 3Pikas.
Plan Adopted!
The Chadburn Lake Park Management Plan was adopted at the June 26, 2017 meeting of City Council. Originally presented for consideration in the fall, the decision was delayed to provide additional time for the City to review and revise the document with First Nation government representatives. The plan outlines 26 initiatives to be completed over the next 10 years – stay tuned for input opportunities as we start to work on plan implementation. The City and 3Pikas extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped in this planning process!
