Overview

Between 2019 and 2020, the City conducted a transportation study for the Range Road and Two Mile Hill Road intersection to identify existing transportation issues and develop potential solutions.

The objective of this study was to assess the intersection conditions and develop improvement options to make walking, cycling, transit, and driving at the intersection easier, safer, and more enjoyable.

The study area includes the Range Road and Two Mile Hill Road intersection and the intersection approaches.

Background

Range Road and Two Mile Hill Road intersection is a prominent intersection in the City of Whitehorse. The intersection forms a major crossroads for all types of road users including pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and drivers. The intersection is situated at one of the major entrances into the Downtown core from the Alaska Highway and surrounding neighbourhoods in the City.

The intersection has been flagged by residents for traffic and road safety issues, particularly between active transportation users and vehicles.
